Jungle Mosaic is a rich blend of Robusta and Arabica, grown primarily under the shade of sweet, Ficus (fig) trees.
Behind the name: We’ve translated Jungle Mosaic to “Vanam Pookalam” in Malayalam, the predominant language of Kerala, India. Vanam means forest. Pookalam refers to a beautiful form of artwork made entirely of flowers and petals that Kerala is famous for. It’s like rangoli but made entirely of flowers rather than colored powder. Vanam Pookalam then is our vibrant blend of shade-grown coffee beans from both evergreen and moist deciduous forests, a mosaic of majestic forests.
Community behind the blend: Soliga (BR Hills) & Fair Trade Alliance of Kerala

Washed Process (Arabica – Karnataka):
- Coffee beans are surrounded by a coffee fruit, and the taste of the beans is influenced by how this fruit is treated once picked and prepared for roasting. The washed (or wet) process involves removing the outer fruit through fermentation and washing, ensuring that only the clean bean remains before drying. This is the most common method for processing coffee.
Natural Process (Robusta – Kerala):
- In this method, the coffee cherries are left to dry with the fruit still intact, allowing the natural sugars and flavors from the fruit to seep into the beans as they slowly dry under the sun.
